h1. Communications Suite Licensing Information
There is no license enforcement for Communications Suite. When you purchase Communications Suite, you receive all the software you need to deploy Communications Suite including Sun Convergence, Delegated Administrator, and high availability agents. You also receive a limited right to use all required supporting software, including Directory Server, Web Server, Application Server, Access Manager, and Java Message Queue. This right to use is limited to direct support of Communications software.
If you are confused about the entitlements to use dependent components such as Directory Server, use this rule of thumb: if you turn off a Communications Suite server such as Messaging Server, are you still using Directory Server? If so, then you need a Directory Server license. If not, then the entitlement you get with Communications Suite is fine. The same rule of thumb can be applied to all of the supporting software to which a limited right to use is granted.
