h3.Definition: Auxiliary Object Class

An auxiliary [object class|Definition -- Object Class] is one that does not define the core type of an entry, but defines additional characteristics of that entry. An [entry|Definition -- Entry] can contain zero or more auxiliary object classes. The set of auxiliary classes allowed for use in an entry may be controlled by a [DIT content rule|Definition -- DIT Content Rule] associated with that entry's [structural class|Definition -- Structural Object Class].
