This is the home page for the Wide-Finder project Wiki.

Wide Finder is an attempt to answer this question: What is a good way to write computer programs to take advantage of modern slow-clock-rate/many-core computers, without imposing excessive complexity on programmers?

I have arranged for an Internet-facing Sun T2K (8 cores, 32 threads) to be available for this work; see [Infrastructure]. It has been loaded with a 218-million line 45GB data set for testing purposes.

The first order of business is to agree on what benchmark we should use to compare performance of wide-finder implementations. Please join the discussion here on the wiki at [The Benchmark].
