Local contents are files, scripts, executables, or binaries that are not known to the hosted tier and private to your organization. The local contents are stored in the satellite. This will not be synchronized with Sun's knowledge base.
The local content files have instructions that need to be carried out before or after a job. It can test the managed hosts before running a job.
The local content files are categorized as;
* Configuration files
* Macros
* Pre-actions
* Post-actions
* Probes
The following operations are available to manage the local content:
* *Add Software Packages*
Add software packages from the satellite or managed hosts.
* *Add Configuration Files*
Add files to store locally and apply to all the managed hosts. For example, the printer configuration.
* *Add Actions*
Add scripts or binaries that makes changes to a host. The actions are categorized as Pre or Post.
* *Add Categories*
Local contents are categorized under the default available categories such as probes, macros, and actions.
* *Edit Component files*
Edit the local component files for the changes in environment.
* *Delete Component files*
Delete the local content files that have been added by you or another user.
