h2. Session Title: Probing Database Applications with DTrace Probes

*Audience:* Application developers and database administrators
*Author:* Robert Lor, Martin MC Brown

h3. Abstract
DTrace provides an unprecedented observability capability for applications through embedded probes, function boundary or instruction level tracing. There are several advantages with embedded probes, and this session will explain what they are and show how to add probes to applications and use them to solve performance problems, with case study from MySQL and PostgreSQL.
