It's not clear for me, how xVM Ops Center does provisioning on a bare-metal system: how could it discover my new system as a gear if it has no OS, thus no xVM Ops Agent??
If no OS, so no TCP/IP - so how can it communicate at all with a bare-metal system??
In JumpStart it's necesary to configure RARP and to boot from a client's OBP - and how does it work here?
So, I think it's only a feature for systems with LOM or something like this, isn't it?

xVM Ops center can provision bare-metal and it does not require an OS on it. Please look into the following page for more detailed procedures http://wikis.sun.com/display/xvmOC2dot0/Creating+OS+Profiles+for+Solaris+Systems. There is an option to select bare-metal while creating a profile.
In the article, I have given only an outline of the provisioning procedure, for more detailed information, please refer to our product documentation at http://wikis.sun.com/display/xvmOC2dot0/Home.
The Provisioning procedures are at http://wikis.sun.com/display/xvmOC2dot0/OS+Provisioning

It helps a lot, but still I cannot find a simple answer - maybe you know it for sure.
Is it possible from xVM Ops to remotely launch for example an installation of S10 (conforming a dedicated Provisioning Profile of course) on a machine with no OS on it? Or you must start booting locally from the machine "boot net:dhcp" ?
I wish I could test it by myself, but have no possibility at the time, so have to prepare theoretically..

Piotr

That covers the Sun volume server x86 and SPARC platforms.
Ops Center does everything automatically. It configures the jumpstart server, the kickstart server, the autayast server, the DHCP, allows for the creation of OS profiles and finish script management, it manages the machines MAC addresses from discovery of the service processor, it remotely PXE boots or net boots the platforms via it's remote control of the service processor.
