This release of Sun Studio Express is available as part of the Sun Studio 12 Update 1 Early Access program. By participating in the Early Access Program, you will have the opportunity to evaluate new capabilities of Sun Studio software, provide your feedback to the product team and influence future product releases.

| {{\--javahome _directory{_}}} | Use the JVM in the specified directory to run the installer. By default the  installer looks for a JVM in the directory specified by the {{JAVA_HOME{}}} environment variable and in several standard locations. |
| {{\--tempdir _directory{_}}} | Use the specified directory for extracting temporary installation data. By default the installer uses the directory specified by the {{TMPDIR{}}} environment variable. |
| {{\--output _out{_}}} | Redirect all output to the file {{{_}out._}} |
| {{\--verbose}} | Use verbose output. |
| {{\--locale _locale{_}}} | Override default locale with specified locale. |
| {{\--silent}} \\ | Run installer silently. This option installs all components of the Sun Studio Express software and generates no output. You can use the return code or the log files in {{$HOME/.nbi/log}} to determine the status of the installation. |
| {{\--help}} \\ | Display help on installer options. |
| {{\--record _state{_}.xml}} | Records the states of components from the specified state file. |
| {{\--silent-logs-dir _directory{_}}} | Output silent logs to the specified directory. These logs contain information about system configuration and reasons for installation failure. |
