*Category*: Set of forums based on a general topic. Example: [Java Essentials|http://forums.sun.com/category.jspa?categoryID=5] category
*Forum*: Sections of the site dedicated to a specific topic. Example: [New to Java|http://forums.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=54] forum
*Thread*: Set of messages (similar to an email tread). The original post is initiated by a single user, then is followed by a replies from other users. Example: [Which PDF library is better?|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5338017]
*Message*: The original post or reply to the original post.
