... Should we recruit new members to work on additional projects, or should we stick with the project(s) that we have going right now?
Always a good question. At the 9/19/08 meeting, we created the role of Project Champion, a person who agrees to investigate a project idea and report back to the group with a yes/no recommendation for EWB-SFP-Sun to formally proposing the project via [EWB New Project Application, Form 501|http://www.ewb-usa.org/downloads/501%20-%20Project%20Application%20Form%20rev2007-07-31.doc], which is the first step in starting an EWB project.
h1. Project Ideas and Champions
Approved projects will appear on the [EWB-SFP-Sun home page|Home]. The Status column in the list of project ideas should be one of * *Investigating* - the champion is investigating * *Yes* - the champion recommends we should formally propose this project, if someone volunteers to be the leader of the project (may or may not be the original champion) * *No* - the champion does not recommend we propose this project at this time * *Draft* - a team has been formed, including a leader, and the proposal is in draft form * *Submitted* - a formal 501 proposal has been submitted to EWB-USA. If approved, this idea will be removed from this table and appear instead on the [Home] page.
For the full names and contact info of Champions or Leaders, see the [Meetings and Minutes|https://wikis.sun.com/display/EWBpilot/EWB+Sun+Bay+Area+Pilot+Meetings+and+Minutes] page restricted to Sun staff (you must login to view). If they are not listed on that page, they will be in the alias, which is listed on that page. |

h1. Instructions for Champions
If you want to Champion a Project Idea, please follow these steps:
# If the Project Idea is not already listed in the above table, edit this wiki and add a row for the Project Idea. Include a link if possible. Put your name in the Champion column. (Suggested name format is First L.) Initialize the status as Investigating. # Add your full name to the [Members|https://wikis.sun.com/display/EWBpilot/EWB+Sun+Bay+Area+Pilot+Meetings+and+Minutes#EWBSunBayAreaPilotMeetingsandMinutes-Members] table of the restricted page, so other members will be able to contact you if they are interested in the Project Idea that you are investigating. # Once you have finished investigating the idea, send an email to the [alias|https://wikis.sun.com/display/EWBpilot/EWB+Sun+Bay+Area+Pilot+Meetings+and+Minutes] and be sure to include the following information: #* Name of Project Idea (same as listed in the table) #* Links to information #* Brief project description, in your words. _Note: this should be a few short paragraphs at most. There will be plenty of time to describe the project in great detail if we decide to start the project by filling out the 501 form._ #* Contact information for other organizations or EWB chapters interested in this same project #* Ways that EWB-SFP-Sun might contribute #* Other comments or information
