h3. Some users have their application sessions "disappear" after 12 minutes; what's happening?
This symptom could be related to a known problem with the use of 8-bit characters in usernames - if you require 8-bit character support in your usernames, you should be sure to start SGD (and its associated Apache/Tomcat webserver) with a LOCALE set to an appropriate UTF-8 character set. While it's generally not recommended that you alter system scripts, to ensure that these components are always started with the LOCALE properly set, it's probably best to edit the *$<INSTDIR>/bin/tarantella* script, adding a line such as:

{{LANG=en_US.UTF-8; export LANG}}
If you're having trouble with load-balancing decisions made by SGD, have a look at [Troubleshooting Advanced Load Management|http://docs.sun.com/source/820-6689/chapter7.html#Z40000231306850]
In particular, be aware of ["Server Affinity"; |http://docs.sun.com/source/820-6689/chapter7.html#Z40000231512575] when server affinity is enabled and set to 100%, (the default), if a user has an application already running on an application server, a new application launch will always launch on that same application server, if (assuming the new application is also available on that server.)

If you just want a quick check to see if what load data the Enhancement Modules are returning, you can obtain the information by browsing to:
