Using Groups
Groups are administrative structures that contain gear. They appear in the Gear section of the Navigation panel, beneath the All Gear group. Groups can contain any amount of gear, and gear can be placed in more than one group.
There are two types of group, homogeneous and heterogeneous. Homogeneous groups contain a single type of gear: server, chassis, or operating system. Heterogeneous groups can contain multiple types of gear.
You can use groups to organize your gear and act as targets for many types of jobs. Homogeneous groups can be targeted with jobs appropriate for their type of gear. Homogeneous server groups, for instance, can be targeted with OS provisioning or firmware update jobs.
