Hardware Monitoring and Management

Servers and chassis can be managed and monitored by Sun xVM Ops Center.

The following table provides the attributes that are monitored for hardware:

Type Attributes Monitored
Server Power (ILOM based servers)
Chassis Power (ILOM based chassis)

Sun xVM Ops Center can manage hardware health, power states, variables and connectivity, jobs, notification status, and locator lights.

Monitoring Hardware Health Describes how to monitor the health status of the managed gear
Managing Locator Lights Describes how to locate gear using the locator lights
Managing and Monitoring Server Power States Describes different power states of a system and how to power on or power off a system
Monitoring Power Utilization Describes how to view and read the power usage charts
Monitoring Hardware Sensors and Connectivity Describes how hardware sensors and connectivity are monitored
Resetting a Server Describes how to reset a server
Monitoring Job Information Describes how to monitor the current jobs and historical jobs
Managing and Monitoring M-Series Server Describes how M-Series servers are monitored through Sun xVM Ops Center

Note -- You cannot perform any management or monitoring actions on the Sun xVM Ops Center Enterprise Controller or Proxies.
