Job Management

All major tasks within Sun xVM Ops Center, such as gear discovery, patching, and OS provisioning, create jobs.

From the Jobs tab, you can monitor and control current and historical jobs. The status of all jobs will be displayed, and more detailed information such as task results and past run histories can be viewed. The status of jobs can also be changed - jobs can be stopped, re-run, or deleted.

To Display All Jobs

  1. Click All Jobs in the Jobs section of the Navigation panel.
    The All Jobs list is displayed.
  2. (Optional) To view all jobs with a specific status, select the status from the Jobs tab of the Navigation panel.

For each job, the following information is displayed:

  • Job status
  • Job ID
  • Name of job
  • Mode of job
  • Type of job
  • Owner of job
  • Date and time when the job started or is scheduled to start
  • Elapsed time
Content Description
Job Details How to view details of a specific job, including tasks, task results, and event logs
Stopping a Job Cancel a job that is running
Deleting a Job Remove a job and associated information
Re-running a Job Re-run a completed job
Re-running a Job on Failed Targets Re-run the failed portions of a completed job
Copying a Job Create a new job using another job as a template
Answering Questions Supply additional information needed to complete a running job
Monitoring Jobs for a Gear Monitor the current and historical jobs for a specific gear
