Enabling and Disabling Notifications

Sun xVM Ops Center generates notifications for all event operations and when the set thresholds are exceeded.

You can enable or disable the notifications for a server or blade, chassis, or OS. The status of the notification for the gear is displayed in the corresponding monitoring window of the gear.

To Enable Notifications
  1. Choose Server or Chassis from the Management menu.
    Appropriate management information appears.
  2. Select the specific object that you want to monitor.
  3. Choose Enable Notifications from the Actions drop-down menu.
    A job is submitted for enabling notifications of the gear.
  4. To view the job details, click the Jobs Running section of the xVM Ops Center masthead.
    The Enable Notification job appears in the Jobs table.
To Disable Notifications
  1. Choose Server, Operating System, or Chassis from the Management menu.
    Appropriate management information appears.
  2. Select the specific object for which you want to stop monitoring.
  3. Choose Disable Notification from the Actions drop-down menu.
    A job is submitted to disable the notification of the gear.
  4. To view the status of your job, click the Jobs Running section of the xVM Ops Center masthead.
    The Disable Notification job appears in the Jobs table.
