Predefined profiles are provided in the Sun xVM Ops Center to facilitate the user to run system-wide checks. You cannot edit or delete these profiles. You can use the following predefined profiles:
- Check System: Installs or upgrades missing dependent components, according to the rules that are set in the satellite local services of the selected distribution.
- Check Security: Every security instance known to the satellite of the selected distribution is checked, to see whether the instance can fix the installed components.
- Check Bug-Fixes: Every bug fix patch known to the satellite of the selected distribution is checked, to see whether the patch can fix the installed components.
- Local Software Review: Checks local components against the satellite of the selected distribution. This profile helps you to find the local components under software packages. If you confirm the actions of this profile, the local version is replaced with a certified version.
- Upgrade All Components: Check installed component against the satellite of the selected distribution to see if the installed components can be upgraded.
- Check withdrawn patches: Checks installed patches against the Sun's knowledge base of the selected distribution to see whether the vendor has withdrawn the patch. A patch might be withdrawn due to a better patch or version making the withdrawn one obsolete, or due to bugs in the patch itself. The Sun xVM Ops Center will upgrade to the correct patch. If the correct patch does not exists, the Sun xVM Ops Center downgrades back to the vendor supported patch version.
- Perform Restart: Restarts the selected system.
- Perform Restart+Reconfigure: Restarts the selected system and performs specific post-installation configurations.
You can deploy or simulate deployment of predefined profiles in jobs. When creating a new job with a predefined profile, you should include a policy. The policy determines the trends and automation of the deployment of the complete profile.
