There are three methods for discovering gear in your data center: Basic Discovery - Discovers gear embedded with Sun Service Tags Custom Discovery - Discovers gear by using IP addresses and protocols that you designate Manual Discovery - Discovers gear by using a discovery file that you create and upload to the Sun xVM Ops Center Gear Module Once you discover the gear, register your gear with the Sun xVM modules that you want to use.
