So, what is the easy way to run Windows 7 Beta on OpenSolaris xVM?

#1 - go to this blog entry and sign up for Blastwave for Opensolaris - it is now being called UltraViolet.

    http://ultravioletos.blogspot.com/2008/05/opensolaris-and-blastwave.html

    Get qemu and vncviewer

    Then

#2 - go to this blog entry and set up your Dom0

    http://trevoro.ca/blog/2008/05/07/getting-xvm-to-work-in-opensolaris-200805/

Follow all of the first steps - there - up to the script that talks about trouble setting up a DomU - that is not all that necessary, and to be honest, I don't know what it does, because I haven't used it.

#3 - go to this blog to set up your DomU

    http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/xen/docs/HVMdomains.htm

    #4 -

You can tweak the example configuration file found here

    http://opensolaris.org/os/community/xen/docs/hvm-config-example

to attempt to get sound and other things working.

#5. If you can install Windows XP 32 - you should be able to also install Win 7 Beta 32 as seen in the image below.
