Uploading Files

Overview

  • Mediacast allows users to upload any sort of media file or aggregate web links.
  • This includes video files, music files, text files, compressed files, etc.
  • The maximum size of a file that can be uploaded is 500MB

Uploading Media Content From File

  1. After logging in, click on the Add Media link on the left-hand side under 'User menu'
  2. By default, the options for uploading a file from your computer will appear
  3. Click on the Browse... button to search your computer for a file to upload (required)
  4. Enter in a name for your uploaded file in the box next to 'Filename' (required)
  5. Enter in a description for the file being uploaded. This is useful for other users who want to know what the file is. (required)
  6. Enter in tags that accurately describe the media file's content in the box next to 'Tags'. Separate each tag with spaces. (required)
  7. You can shorten the download link for the media file by entering in a Permalink
  8. When you are finished, click on the Add button at the bottom of the page

Creating Media Links

  1. After logging in, click on the Add Media link on the left-hand side under 'User menu'
  2. Click on the Media Link tab at the top of the page
  3. Type in the correct URL to the media file in the box next to 'URL'
  4. Enter in a name for your link in the box next to 'Name' (required)
  5. Enter in a description for the link you are adding. This is useful for other users who want to know what the link or its content is. (required)
  6. Enter in tags that accurately describe the media link's content in the box next to 'Tags'. Separate each tag with spaces. (required)
  7. You can shorten the download link for the media link by entering in a Permalink
  8. When you are finished, click on the Add button at the bottom of the page
