OpenSolaris 2008.11 release test matrix
General Test Info
Test effort of g11n test group of Project Indiana - OpenSolaris 2008.11 release consists of several types of testing:
- Conformance testing - testing based on g11n feature coverage and general guidelines described in Test Plan
- Test Case based testing - testing based on scenarios and test assignments in Test Case Management (TCM) tool
- Install Testing - testing focused on correctness of installation under different langs/locales

Font package changes testing
Instructions:
- Make Fresh Install of osol2008.11 build99
- remove FSWxorg-fonts pkg (cmd:"pkg uninstall -r FSWxorg-fonts") and install FSWxorg-fonts-core and FSWxorg-fonts-iso8859-16 (please note new pkgs will be in repository once it syncs with build 100. For earlier testing contact test-group and we will provide you location of packages
- Ensure that system is not impacted by this change from g11n perspective:
- run installer using: $pfexec /usr/bin/gui-install
- check gnome desktop font properties and applications (e.g. gedit)
- check Mozilla foundation products (e.g. firefox)
- check Java applications (e.g. java -jar /usr/java/demo/jfc/Notepad/Notepad.jar
- check Check OpenOffice suite
- check xterm: $xterm

Comments:
- DDU (Device Driver Utility) including OLH - SUNWddu-l10n was integrated in RC1.
- Registration Relay Service - From Service Tags folks. Reg desktop icon, which will open up Firefox allowing people to create their own Sun login and associate the information about the system that has been collected with them. The L10N Will be on net webpage, not Live CD.
Translation in progress. Preliminary translations provided to Glynn 11/18. - IPS GUI,Update Mgr, Will be in RC2. l10n snapshot images were removed due to the limited CD size.
