How to use KBabel

How to use KBabel

  • Edit your profile: Project -> Configure





  • Choose the folder of PO/POT messages. KBable Catalog Manager uses this folder for creating Catalog
  • Submit
  • Open Catalog Manager ( Tools -> Catalog Manager ) - Open Po file which you want to translate





  • If you want to use Translation Memory, please open: Tools -> Rough Translation





  • Put Translation Database (TD) to "Use" window, then configure TD ( Database -> Scan Folder and Subfolders ), select Folder where PO files are saved





  • OK and then click on Start button
    You can experiment with settings
    You can add to Translation Memory already translated KDE and GNOME messages.
    e.g.: svn checkout svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/branches/stable/l10n/cs/messages/ cs
    
  • Set default dictionary to Translation Database ( Settings -> Configure KBabel -> Search )









    Some functions don't work correctly yet (spell checking).
