Install It

There are two forums on basics and LiveCD and virtualized installation experience and configuration. Here are three easy steps to be running natively OpenSolaris

If you are looking to install OpenSolaris on a MacBook, check here.

STEP 1:

backup your data on your partitions, in case of human error

STEP 2:

Use GPartEd from http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ to resize/move your partitions on your hard disk and create an 8GB primary (to be bootable )partition. Be aware that moving resizing partitions is time consuming and depends on the size of your partitions

STEP 3:

Install OpenSolaris by booting on your live CD, and then clicking on the "Install" icon on your Desktop. Following the various steps is straightforward and very easy.
