Steps to setup Webmin for Web Stack

This page provides the steps needed to setup Webmin to work with the Web Stack components.

NOTE: Do the following as root

Copy the configuration files

  1. Download the attached configuration files
  2. The Webmin modules are located at /usr/sfw/lib/webmin
  3. Copy the config-solaris-11-*-apache to /usr/sfw/lib/webmin/apache as config-solaris-11-*
  4. Copy the config-solaris-11-*-squid to /usr/sfw/lib/webmin/squid as config-solaris-11-*
  5. Copy the config-solaris-11-*-php to /usr/sfw/lib/webmin/phpini as config-solaris-11-*
  6. Copy the config-solaris-11-*-mysql to /usr/sfw/lib/webmin/mysql as config-solaris-11-*

Setup Webmin

  1. Execute ls -l /etc/webmin/apache/config. If the file exists and if the file size is greater than zero then delete it.
  2. Do the first step for each of /etc/webmin/squid/config, /etc/webmin/phpini/config and /etc/webmin/mysql/config.
  3. Execute /usr/sfw/bin/webminsetup. This step will also (re)start Webmin.

Now login to Webmin at the port provided while executing /usr/sfw/bin/webminsetup.

The Apache, Squid, MySQL and PHP modules should work automatically.

NOTE
  • As of now only Apache, Squid and PHP modules will work. PHP has been tested with SXDE build 75 and it requires minimum of build 73.
  • MySQL will not currently work since the MySQL packages are not ready yet. Once the packages are ready, Webmin should be able to work with MySQL. The MySQL module has been tested with MySQL(version 5.0.33) installed from coolstack.
