I've spent 10 minutes searching for infodoc 207607 using the tools on this site and found nothing, come on where are the infodocs.
This infodoc is referenced on Page 277 of the System Administration Guide : Devices and Filesystems. ( dated Sep 2008)

Why do you make it so difficult to find?

In the past I've found Infodocs to be interesting and useful but I think Sun has dropped them. I have looked for Infodocs recently and found none.

Please improve the download process for Patch Clusters, 1000+mb files are too large for most download customers. Thanks Cathy

I am having the same problem and sunsolve support is totally unresponsive to the problem. It is hard to justify my Sun equipment to my boss when I can't get the patches to fix the security holes, etc. Sigh.

This is an actual complaint. In my many years as a Sun employee and now as partner of Sun in the service area I am
getting really discouraged because of access to Sunsolve. When I need a document or something to complete my present task such as a Sun Cluster install I don't have and can't get the necessary alerts or Technical instruction because I
don't have a maintenance contract number. This is annoying as all heck and needs to be fixed somehow.Since I am a
partner providing Sun services I should have access. Please fix.

      Hi Sljack,
As a partner of Sun you need to take it up with the partner program you are part of.
As Sunsolve has entitlement based on what is need to support the different programs.

What's the deal with the new patch access rules.
Okay, I can understand that some patches are for people with support contracts but us small time developers who happen to like Solaris do not have the big bucks that companies have and can't afford a hefty support contract.
Every patch I try to access either says I don't have a support contract - which is true; I mean, a support contract for a 10 year old ultra 10? are you serious? - or dumps me back at the main patching page - even the so called public access ones seem to be closed off now.

Come on SUN, get your act in order. If something is broken and there's a fix, play fair, let us who need the patch get at them.

Even Microsoft and Apple allow free access to their service packs, what is the problem?

No wonder more and more products are dropping Solaris from their portfolio...

Yes, it's nice that the Solaris 9 and Solaris 10 is still supported but if an upgrade has a decepancy on a patch which no one can get at, well all I can say is... no wonder Linux is taking the world be storm...

Way to go in killing off your client base.... I wonder if nominations for the darwin awards are still open.

Just to clarify : There are public patches and contracted patches.

You are comparing different business models. Microsoft and Apple do NOT give their software away, they have a license system. Purchasing the license allows access to service packs.

Sun has a different model, that is why our patches are reserved for contracted customers. Customers for security or Sun Alert patches which are critical to your system are still public.

I have yet to be able to navigate your website to download any patches for StarOffice 8 or any other of your products. The run around is worse than dealing with MicroSoft. In the past I have had to wait and install the next version of your products or go back to using MS-Office.

      Hi Sil,
The StarOffice Patches are on SunSolve.
Start: http://sunsolve.sun.com -> Select Patches and Updates
If you look on the lower left corner there is patches by product.

Select Staroffice -> The drop down allows you to select which version.

Sun may have the right to block access to Bug fixes if Sun staff fixed the bug (doubtful..).
It doesn't have the right to charge for essential parts of the Open Source parts of Solaris 10.
I have the vold bug and cannot fix it with the Oct 2009 patch, without a contract.
    I can work around this.
But I have spent 2 years studying Solaris 10 and spent big bucks on training and exams.
I want my exam fees back!
I want to spend the money on Linux instead.
No one can survice in business by abusing their user base. Look what is happening to Microsoft, the most hated company in the IT world.

sunsolve.sun.com landing page works, but logins don't log you into an account that matches your login id. Today, my login id and password brought me to a page for userid "dowcorning" and claimed I don't have a contract.
It's been BO (burned out) since yesterday and the estimate to fix keeps moving.
Yesterday it was supposed to be up by 11am MST. When I phoned later in the afternoon the lady who took the call said she had been hearing two different times: 5p PST and 11:59p PST. It's now 8:30a the next day.

SunSolve is currently experiencing issues, we are working around the clock to fix this. It appears one of our boundary system implemented a change that was not validated previously in beta with SunSolve. The support team is working around the clock to fix this.

Updates hourly will go out on twitter, subscribe to sunsolve on twitter to receive these.

I don't know why, but the font in the text section of these new documents is absolute rubbish. It seems to be called font class="cdsoracleext". It displays horribly, and prints even worse than it displays. It doesn't matter if I use firefox on Solaris 10 or on Windows XP, both are almost illegible to display and munged on print.
Also, I wish Sun would just fix this within a week, instead of sending me a generic "we appreciate your feedback" then doing nothing about it for years.
    Pretty much everything in: http://sunsolve.sun.com/richmedia/index.html
