A Cascaded Replication Topology is a directory services replication topology utilizing a combination of suppliers, hubs, and consumers to create a Directory Services Complex. The Complex supports enhanced availability, improved data redundance, and increased performance. As of Sun Java System Directory Server 5.2, suppliers, hubs, and read-only replicas may be located in different geographical areas and connected by a WAN . As of Sun Java System Directory Server Enterprise Edition 6, there is no theoretical limit on the number of suppliers, making it possible to construct a Directory Services Complex exclusively of suppliers.
