Introduction
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This install bundle contains the required patches for
the Sun Connection Update Manager product for Solaris 8, sparc platform.
The install bundle consists of the following patches:
116602-01 SunOS 5.8: /sbin/uadmin and /sbin/hostconfig patch
115827-01 SunOS 5.8: /sbin/sulogin and /sbin/netstrategy patch
113648-04 SunOS 5.8: mount patch
111317-07 SunOS 5.8: /sbin/init and /usr/sbin/init patch
111023-03 SunOS 5.8: /kernel/fs/mntfs and /kernel/fs/sparcv9/mntfs patch
110386-04 SunOS 5.8: RBAC Feature Patch
108989-02 SunOS 5.8: /usr/kernel/sys/acctctl and /usr/kernel/sys/exacctsys patch
111310-01 SunOS 5.8: /usr/lib/libdhcpagent.so.1 patch
111111-07 SunOS 5.8: /usr/bin/nawk patch
112396-03 SunOS 5.8: /usr/bin/fgrep patchunOS

Installation Script Tasks

The installation script performs the following tasks:
- Checks if required patches are installed and if not, installs them.
Supported Options
-----------------
The installation script has the following options:
-d Turns debug mode on.
How to Install the required patches for Sun Update Connection
-------------------------------------------------------------
If you want to use an option during installation, review "Supported
Options" carefully before running the command.
1.) Download the bundle (update_connection_required_patches.zip)
from the Sun Download Center to /tmp.
2.) Unzip the bundle.
Note:
The following files will be created in
/tmp/update_connection_required_patches.
PREREQUISITE_README: README file for the installing required patches.
install: script used to install required patches.
install_util: utility tool used by the install script (not directly invoked)
patchlist: list of required patches for Sun Update Connection Manager
release: release data (5.8)
uninstall: script used to remove patches applied by the install script
The following directory will be created in
/tmp/update_connection_required_patches.
patches: contains the required patches resides.
3.) Become a superuser.
4.) Type the following command to run the installation script:
# /tmp/update_connection_required_patches/install

The installation script copies the following to /var/update_connection_required_patches
* uninstall_patches: Script used to remove required patches.
* uninstall_patchlist: List of patches to be removed
How to Uninstall required patches

1.) Become a superuser.
2.) Type the following command to uninstall the Sun Connection Update Manager packages:
/var/update_connection_required_patches/uninstall_patches
