The purpose of this page is to collect topics of interest around Solaris Cluster and Open HA Cluster.
It started out of a thread on the ha-clusters-discuss mailing list: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=66241&tstart=0.
Anyone interested is free to add further topics and proposals about venue, style and form of the meeting.
One possibility could be a centralized event, location to be determined, where interested parties would attend and come together for X days. Optional with the possibility to stream presentations to the Internet.
Another possibility could be to leverage existing local user group meetings, finding a cluster expert nearby, and let him talk about topics of interest. This could be done at multiple locations (provided multiple experts are available).
Another possibility could be to leverage existing Open Source events and add a HA/clustering track to it.
Besides presentations or talks about various topics, one could also think about Hackathon style meetings (either virtual or physical) to get certain development or bug fixing work done.
Here is the list of potential topics proposed so far for a potential cluster bootcamp event:
| Topic | List of interested people | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Sun Cluster Internals - interconnect architecture explained | ? | Lecture |
| Sun Cluster Internals - architecture explained |
potential contributors | Lecture |
| Missing Resource types (aka agents) |
users/contributors | Discussion / brainstorming |
| Create simple agents using GDS |
users | Lecture / Demo |
| Project Colorado (OHAC on OpenSolaris distro) | Nick | Discussion |
| OHAC on Linux | Discussion | |
| RGM Internals | Lecture | |
| OHAC Geo Edition | Lecture | |
| OHAC and Virtualization | ? |
I would like to see a explanation about the Sun cluster architecture, and a document (for newbies) describing the components and how each part exchange information within the cluster. In wich level is a "resource type/RT" (aka agent), DCS and CCR layers, and etc. I think would be of great interest for people wanting to participate of OHAC.

Here i think we can work around the important agents we do not have in our community (eg. CIFS/RT).

Using the GDS template, we could create a lot of simple agents, that many users could use (make them available here: http://opensolaris.org/os/community/ha-clusters/ohac/3rd-party-agents/). I have used the GDS template (http://www.posix.brte.com.br/blog/?p=118), and is really simple, why do not make them available in 3rd-party agents, and avoid make the users re-implement the same solution over, and over again?
