Overview

This plug-in enables users to create and delete Sun Cluster configurations
by using the N1 Service Provisioning System (N1SPS). Users can also
add and remove nodes to or from clusters managed by this plug-in.
Support is provided for installing and uninstalling Sun Cluster software,
including agent software. And, limited support is included for managing
quorum disk devices.

However, this plug-in is not designed to support the routine management of
Sun Cluster configurations or individual cluster nodes. Other tools are
included with the Sun Cluster product itself for this purpose.

What are Some of the Plug-in Limitations That I Should Know About?

The purpose of this plug-in is to enable users to create and delete
multi-node Sun Cluster configurations and to add nodes to and remove
nodes from those clusters that are created by this plug-in.

  • This plug-in cannot be used to create single-node clusters at either
Sun Cluster cluster creation or as part of a node removal.
  • This plug-in is useful for deployment. But, it is not a substitute
for the system management tools included with Sun Cluster software.
  • This plug-in does not support upgrade or the application of patches.

Who Should Use This Plug-in?

Users of this plug-in should already be familiar with Sun Cluster
installation, configuration, and system administration. Administrators
must also be familiar with the N1 Service Provisioning System (N1SPS).
