Sun Secure Global Desktop Software gets used in lots of ways such as:
- Simple LAN deployments
- Directory Server-based access to applications
- Secure Remote Access to internal networks
- Web Server Authentication
- Using Web Server Authentication and Sun Access Manager
- Integration with Web applications and portal servers
- Safe Internet access from sensitive client machines
- ...and many more.
This section of the wiki will eventually explain how to setup SGD in all these deployments but for now here are some slides that were presented at a recent Sun Software Tech Event at the Grenoble Engineering Center, January 2008.
