Member Support Center - Primary User

Primary User

Selecting the links under Primary User in the right navigation bar, will display instruction, screen shots and typical new user gotchas. For fast reference the core tasks are listed below.

Roles and Responsibilities
Role - The Primary User is the user who is delegated the activities of approving additional user request for their company to access the Member Support Center.

  • There can be more then one primary user per company
  • After the first primary user is approved by Sun, the Company then approves and manages additional primary users.

Responsibilities - Core responsibilities of the primary user are to:-
1. Approve or Reject Users via the work-flow process - This includes Rejecting enrollments which are not needed.

2. Maintenance of Users (end dating users when they leave, and modification of access)

3. Creating more primary users to assist in the management process

4. Managing Primary users

All of the responsibilities are described below. Where the quick steps for each responsibility are shown. Remember additional screen shots and full work instructions are listed under the side right hand menu.

Changes in the next Major Release May 2009

1. New change where made to the Knowledge User. An additional enrollment called X was added.

When approving this enrollment you allow limited access to create Service Requests to the user.

Limited Support Enrollment

The Limited Support Enrollment gives a user access to:

Limited Service Requests

  • Enables a User to Create a Service Request
  • Limits the Service Request to only the user who created the Service Request or is listed as an contact on the Service Request.

Please note:

  • Contract and Install Base (Asset) searches not available for this enrollment
  • Global Search is not available for this enrollment.
  • Users of this enrollment must open Service Requests with known Serial Numbers.
  • This enrollment is separate from MSC 'Support' enrollment, and Primary Users are advised NOT to approve both for their Users.

This enrollment will also allow the user to access the existing SunSolve application without the need to associate a contract within SunSolve itself.

On SunSolve the user has access to:

  • Restricted product content
  • Ability to download patches and use patch tools
