Manually Configuring Your Network Connection

In the OpenSolarisTM release, the Network Auto-Magic (NWAM) process automatically establishes a network connection when your system starts, as explained in Administering Your Automatic Network Connection. Alternatively, you can manually administer the system's network connection through the OpenSolaris command-line interface.

The following procedures include the commands to modify or halt the automatic network configuration. In addition, these procedures include steps to manually assign IP addresses. Make sure that you obtain valid addresses from your network administrator.
