How to Download and Install COMSTAR

This page provides information on how to download and install COMSTAR.

Solaris Express Community Edition

COMSTAR with Fibre Channel and iSCSI support is integrated into the latest Solaris Express Community Edition (SXCE).

  1. Go to the OpenSolaris community downloads page.
  2. Download at least Solaris Express Community Edition Build 103 onto the target host.
  3. Follow the instructions provided to install the software.

OpenSolaris 2008.11

  1. Go to the OpenSolaris community downloads page.
  2. Download the OpenSolaris 2008.11 release onto the target host.
  3. Follow the instructions provided to install the software.

OpenSolaris 2009.06

$ pfexec pkg install storage-server

Reboot the machine (COMSTAR installation requires reboot)
