Developing Beyond localhost Presentation Checklist

This checklist has been prepared to make sure your presentation and demos go as smooth as possible.

Presentation

Save and deliver it as a PDF, preferably in a separate desktop from where you'll deliver your demos (this way you never have to exit full screen mode)

Demo Prep

  • Restore the VirtualBox snapshot (zfs rollback rpool/virtualbox@clean). This snapshot should have:
    • Ubuntu in a Saved state, preferably with GlassFish running (asadmin start-domain domain1)
    • Windows XP or Windows 7 in a Saved state
  • Comment out the JNLP MIME type from /etc/apache2/2.2/mime.types
  • Restore the statusDB database tables if necessary.
  • Start NetBeans
    • Set the runtime server of the chapter04 project back to the local GlassFish server.
    • Make sure statusDB appears in the Databases node of the Services tab.
    • Delete the remote GlassFish server from the Services Window.
    • Make sure /var/apache2/2.2/htdocs is mounted in favorites.
    • Have the Start Page showing.
  • Save the presentation as a PDF (see bug 7416)

Q&A

Have a pen & paper handy to note down the questions. These are potentially topics to include in a future version of the presentation or to follow up with if you don't know the answer.
