Is there also a web-based way to do some of the famadm CLI functionality, like (update, view) Policy Agent 3.0 profile?

Later, the opensso fam console will have easier UI pages to edit and agents configuration, but this tip may help some of the current users.

Yes. The opensso fam server has a JSP page as part of the current console (I am not sure if this is a permanent feature so may be removed) that allows a user to do some of the famadm CLI functionality like update a property value for an agent profile configuration or show a

You can also see the How to set up(create, update, view) Policy Agent 3.0 profile on FAM server using the famadm Command Line Utility? See this page for details on using CLI of famadm.

Here is how to try and use the famadm.jsp :

  1. Go to http://host:port/opensso/famadm.jsp where you use your own values for host and port in the URL
  2. Login with amAdmin and its password. It logs you into the console.
  3. Again, you need to retype in http://host:port/opensso/famadm.jsp in your browser to reach this page.
  4. The web based famadm page has a long list of things it can do. For some agent related tasks, scroll down the page and click on some choices if desired
  5. Click on "show-agent" to show an agent profile. This takes you to a page where you need to enter the profile name of an agent you previously created, then click submit to view the agent's config info.
  6. Click on "update-agent" to Update agent configuration. Use this page to make agent property changes. On update agent page, enter the profile name of an agent you previously created, plus then in the "Add" box type in the value of an agent property and value you would like to update, enter it as property_name=property_value with real names and values for property_name and property_value
