  1. Students can attend JavaOne and CommunityOne for free. More info: http://developers.sun.com/events/studentprogram/
  2. Wear comfortable shoes. Soft walking or running shoes are best.
  3. This is a huge networking opportunity. Mingle during the breaks/lunch and definitely attend the evening meet-ups. Bring  plenty of business cards.
  4. Plan your sessions beforehand. There are so many sessions going on during the week that you might be overwhelmed if you don't study the session program before arrival at the conference.
  5. Identify back-up sessions. If you don't like a session, leave and go check out your secondary session choice. It's possible that you'll find something better going on at the same time.
  6. If you have a laptop and you need to charge it, arrive to your session early so you can pick a seat close to an outlet. Otherwise, you need to rush to the hallways after a session and fight for those few wall outlets there.
  7. If you are live blogging, the official conference tag is "JavaOne2008".
