Java SE - Job Task Analysis Survey
This is a collaboration space to review job task analysis (JTA) for the Java SE programmer and Java SE developer roles.
The Java SE programmer role is for a foundation level and the Java SE developer role is for an advanced level.
The JTAs will be used as an input for the certification objectives of Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP), and Sun Certified Java Developer (SCJD) for JDK 7. The JTAs will also be used to design and develop courses that directly map to the JDK 7 certifications.
Objectives
- Perform JTA for positions that maps to the Java SE programmer and developer roles in the industry
- Collaborate with engineers, instructors to create realistic JTA documents
- Incorporate feedback from the developer community into the JTAs and share the final JTA documents with the community by mid May 2009
- Determine the weightage of the tasks by conducting surveys
Guidelines
- Each link in the section below, connects to a JTA for a role. Tasks and activities have been listed for each role in the JTAs
- Review the job tasks for each role.
- A Java programmer role represents a person with zero to one year of experience in the industry. The person is hands on with the Java programming langauge.
- A Java developer role represents a person with one to two years of programming experience in the industry. The person can read and interpret design documents to develop programs/modules/applications.
