How to File a Bug or an RFE for the SunWikis Team

Searching Help

In order to make the whole process easier, we moved our issue tracking to kenai.com. Please follow these instructions to file a wikis.sun.com bug or RFE.

If you are asked to file a ticket for Atlassian then the correct instructions can be found on this wiki page

Filing a bug or an RFE

When filing a bug or RFE report, please take a moment and write up a good report. The better the report, the more likely we'll know exactly what your problem or requirement is.

A good bug report should include a description of the problem, steps to reproduce it, and any other appropriate additional information like space name, username, time when the bug occurred, URL in the browser's address bar, user's browser, OS, geographical location, network (Internet, SWAN, VPN) or screenshots.

A good RFE should describe the feature or the improvement, how it would be used and what group of wikis users would benefit from it (readers, contributors, tech writers, ...).

  1. Navigate to http://kenai.com/jira/browse/SUNWIKIS
  2. Before creating a new issue, do a quick search to ensure the issue hasn't already been filed by another user. See the "QUICK SEARCH" element in the upper right corner
  3. If the issue doesn't already exist, click on the Create New Issue link
  4. Select project sunwikis
  5. Select appropriate issue type (New Feature, Improvement or Bug)
  6. On the next page fill out summary and description, then submit
  7. On the next page click on Watch it link to subscribe to email notifications for this ticket
