Creating an account and logging in
Go to http://analytics.google.com and create a free account. If you already have a Google account, you can simply log in.
Creating a website profile
 | It is very important that you select Add a profile for a new domain - even if you are tracking two spaces and you are creating a profile for the second space. If you don't do this, all of your spaces will be tracked in all of your profiles. |
Extracting the tracking code
Your google analytics tracking code is listed as Web Property ID. Here you can also notice that google analytics can't currently see the tracking code installed in your wiki space.
Creating a filter
You need to create a filter that will exclude traffic to other sites (e.g. our development servers). If you don't do this, there might be a lot of noise in your data, caused by our heavy development and QA activities.

Associating the Google Analytics code with your space.
We have a special plugin that allows you to configure your space to be tracked by Google Analytics. Space admins can access the UI by following these steps:

Verifying successful installation
Once everything is set up, keep an eye on the GA account page.
If you it says Tracking code not verified then you either did something wrong or you have to wait a little more for GA to start processing the activity
When everything is set up correctly you'll see:
Final Notes and warnings
 | The statistics on the GA web site are delayed by 2-4hours. This is the normal behavior. |
