I built this page out of a bit of frustration with running into charges for Wi-Fi and having to search for Wi-Fi when I am working from home and on the road. Keep the information posted here strictly related to the Wi-Fi availability, I would rather that this not become an advertisement for products and such and will moderate any product commentary out of the pages. Also, residential listings (like my neighbor's house that left their Wi-Fi wide open) will be removed quickly, this isn't about stealing Wi-Fi, its about embracing folks that are promoting free access to information (for a cup of joe, of course).
Try to keep any added content in alphabetical order. I'm going to split the page up by "Metro" area for now, so Denver will include all of the surrounding suburbs. Broomfield, Colorado will link to the Denver, Colorado listing as well...so feel free to add surrounding cities but link to the metro area for the time being.
Also included will be a simple rating for the quality of the Wi-Fi: Low, Medium, WiFirrific ![]()
- SF Bay Area, California
- Broomfield, Colorado
- Denver, Colorado
- Highlands Ranch, Colorado
- Littleton, Colorado
- Westminster, Colorado
- New York, NY
- Portland, Oregon
Enjoy and PLEASE participate if you find this useful.

With all communities, let's hope it "scratches an itch" and people find it useful and contribute! Thanks for adding some links, they are actually very, very helpful for me already since I occasionally need a break from the BRM campus and didn't know about Panera/Gordon Biersch...very cool.

You could easily do it on the link to launch to Google maps rather than the company's web site, or put it as a link from the address. Here is an example: http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=panera+bread,+santa+fe,+littleton,+co&ie=UTF8&ll=39.651698,-105.014191&spn=0.194552,0.452499&z=11&iwloc=A&om=1
You get the link by simply finding it in google maps then choosing the "Link to this page". This brings up a URL to cut and paste.
I suppose that would be more useful than how I have it now.
I'll add a few in as examples, good call.
On a second note, I frequently use maps from our blog infrastructure...I'm not sure if it would work in Confluence, I'll hunt around.

Many Wi-Fi areas especially the downtown area around Nicollette Av which is reminiscent of the Downtown mall area of Denver for restaurants and hangout spots.
There is a free Wi-Fi I found in staying at the Hilton on Marquette Av. It comes up as Marquette Av Wi-Fi. This signal came in very strong even on the 19th floor of the hotel.
This is a good link for finding free wi-fi http://www.wififreespot.com/minn.html

Whereandwifi.com is great because it not only finds places for you, it also gives tons of information at a glance. For example the dots on the google maps mash up are color coded so you can eliminate places that are not free. The dot also tells you the internet speed with a color code. Very cool! Click on a dot and you get a roll out that tells you a whole bunch more about the place. If you find a place that fits your bill you can click on the view profile link to see user comments and even more details.
