Communications Suite Tools and Contributions
This page is a collection of installation, troubleshooting, and migration tools, as well as code examples for Communications Suite.
Installation Tools
Enterprise Messaging Reference Architecture Toolkit
The EMRA Toolkit provides a powerful yet flexible framework to automate the deployment of the Communications Suite components in a reliable and repeatable manner. By leveraging Solaris silent install, and using a few shell scripts, you need to only obtain copies of the Communications Suite software (for the Communications components), the Java Enterprise System software (for the other non-Communications components, such as Directory Server), and Solaris OS to get started with a hands- and worry-free Communications Suite deployment.

Troubleshooting and Monitoring Scripts
- imslog.pl: Analyze Messaging Server log files. Note that imslog.pl is an unsupported script. The most recent copy is shipped with the Messaging Server product, located in the msgsvr-base-dir/examples/unsupported/ directory after installation.
Contact your Sun Support Representative to obtain the following scripts to aid in diagnosing problems.
- dbhang: Captures useful debug data when you are having a problem with the Messaging Server's Message Store database.
- pkg_app: Makes debugging problems easier. It packages an executable and all of its shared libraries into one compressed tar file given the PID of the application and optionally the name of the core file to be opened. The files are stripped of their directory paths and are stored under a relative directory named app/ with just their name so they all can be unpacked in one directory.
Migration Tools
GSS Migration Toolkit for Sun Communications Suite
The GSS Migration Toolkit enables migration from IBM Lotus Notes and Domino to Communications Suite. For more information, see http://www.gssnet.com/.
