LDAP Reference Implementation on CMT Systems

LDAP Reference Implementation

The LDAP reference implementation describes how to deploy Sun Java System Directory Servers and the Solaris 10 Operating System on Sun Fire CoolThreads servers in a Web infrastructure using Sun technologies and best practices. A step by step procedure is included that indicates how to fine tune the Sun Java System Directory Server to achieve optimal performance on Sun Fire CoolThreads servers. The replication methodology used enables multiple directory servers to maintain the same directory data to increase read performance and provide fault tolerance for building a highly scalable and available directory service. Sizing data is presented to show how use of the reference implementation can result in performance gains while significantly decreasing required server footprint and energy consumption.
