   I did everything you mentioned in your article and everything is working perfectly except for 1 Mysql related problem.

   I am new to Solaris and Database technology.

   I created the file "simple-test.php" to test the MySql connectivity. However, I get the following error:

   Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in /var/apache2/htdocs/simple-test.php on line 8

   Can you please shed some light on this?

   Just a note about the BigAdmin wiki - some of the pages don't display well using the Mac OS X Safari web browser. For example, the Sample Page (Tech Tip) doesn't look right and also probably those pages derived from that sample page (like the one that I created). Now normally I use FireFox and that all displays fine there, but Safari is also the web browser (currently the only one?) on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

   i have tried to configure apache2 and pbp in solaris 10 on spark pc. for this reason i download libxml2-2.6.31-sol10-sparc-local.gz,libiconv-1.11-sol10-sparc-local.gz,php-5.2.5-sol10-sparc-local.gz binary file. i have installed using pkgadd -d <name_of_file>.
   php file is not working.

   how can i do that. please i need help.

   You could look for help from newsgroups or forums, for example http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/discussions/.

   Just a note to say that the x86.miniroot now has a 64 bit version in boot/amd64, since Solaris 10u8 (10/09), and if you're booting a 64 bit machine you will have to change that one as well.

   Great article, helped me out with the install-server quite a few times now.

   The Marvel Yukon driver yukonxsol_x64v10.0.3.3.tar.Z
   is a good experience to add a driver into the 64-bit
   version of x86.miniroot. This driver is only available
   as a 64-bit version.

   I asume, you mount the new miniroot to /mnt ...
   You should know, how to mount the new miniroot to /mnt.

   But you must be tuff. Sun has placed a lock file
   in the miniroot root tree in /mnt/tmp.
   The file /mnt/tmp/AdDrEm.lck locks the program add_drv.
   Therefore you must remove this file, before you
   can add the driver yukonx.

   To avoid conflicts between the driver yukonx and the
   old driver sk98sol, you must remove all sk98sol lines
   from the file /mnt/etc/driver_aliases before you can add
   the new driver.

   In step two, you can copy the driver to the right
   places.
   /mnt/kernel/drv/amd64/yukonx
   /mnt/kernel/drv/yukonx.conf

   In step three, you can add the driver to the new miniroot.
   rm /mnt/tmp/AdDrEm.lck
